Frozen shoulder syndrome (FFS) is a condition that causes pain and stiffness of the shoulder in some adults. It is also called adhesive capsulitis because the sack that contains the lubricating fluid in the shoulder joint forms adhesions and this can contribute to the inflammation and stiffness of the joint.
